: Canoes & currachs

Hello,
This is a bit of an unrelated request for the site but maybe there is someone reading this who might be able to help me. I recently constructed a one man indian style canoe from larch - the frame is now finished and I intend to cover it with hessian and tar it, similar to a currach. I was wondering if anyone might know where it is possible to purchase currach tar, preferrably on the east coast, or if not anywhere else. Any help is greatly aprreciated, thanks!

Hi John. Funny, I was thinking of making a traditional currach if I could find someone to give me a few pointers. Looks more like next winter now. Not really related to your posting but if you know of someone who still builds them please let me know.
Hope she floats for you.
cheers
James
