1  Irish Hardwood Timber / Tricks of the trade / Re: storing kiln dried timber on: 11 April, 2006, 11:27

Thanks for that, timber is due out of the kiln in 3-4 weeks and will be stored in my workshop.
2  Irish Hardwood Timber / Tricks of the trade / storing kiln dried timber on: 14 March, 2006, 15:10

I have 30 cubes of beech which I wish to have kiln dried. I was wondering what is the best way to store this timber once I have had it dried. Someone suggested wrapping it in plastic and stacking it on a rack.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

3  Irish Hardwood Timber / Tricks of the trade / Oak for spiral staircase on: 30 January, 2006, 15:19
I have been asked to make oak steps for a wrought iron spiral staircase, the steps are 13inchs at their widest and 26 inches long. Is there a danger of this warpping if the step is made from a single plank, would I be better off using preformed solid oak sheeting (made from a series of 2x1 glued togeher).

Any assistance/views appreciated.
