Jointing

Here, a large oak tree is being cut into suitable lengths for the sawmill (called "jointing") before being extracted from the wood.

Before the tree is jointed, careful thought goes into where to place the cuts, taking into account the shape of the tree as well as our customers' needs, the most likely end-use, the length of the kiln and several other factors.
