Welcome to this edition of the Newsletter for the Lisnavagh Timber Project (LTP)

Welcome to the eighth edition of this Newsletter for the Lisnavagh Timber Project (LTP), and particularly to our several new subscribers.

Our current supplies & stock

Current stocks of hardwood timber amount to almost 2,800 cu ft - more than ever!
A Summary of Stock and Price List are available upon request.

Our timber has almost entirely come from Lisnavagh Estate, where LTP is based.
We are now taking in timber from other sources where this is appropriate, although this is at a relatively low level.
Traceablility, woodland sustainability and good woodland practice are strictly observed.

LTP offers the most traceable commercially available timber in Ireland.
In fact, we know of no other supplier in the world that can offer such a level of traceability.
Every plank of hardwood timber is reference numbered, measured, graded and catalogued on our database. This database is the key to the traceability of our timber and allows us to trace the timber in a piece of furniture back to the stump of the tree that it came from, along with a full history of why the tree was felled or why it came down, and what measures were taken to replace the tree. Photographs of the tree itself are now usually available.

Workshop available to rent!

Lisnavagh now has a 576 sq ft workshop available to rent, which would ideally suit someone working with timber.
The workshop was converted from a mid-19th century stables over the last few months. It is situated in the Farmyard at Lisnavagh, which may see several other compatible businesses setting up in the coming months.

Planing, resawing, etc. - NEW SERVICE

We are hoping to offer planing, resawing and other services from the Spring of 2004.
We have had several enquiries for this service over the last two years and we should be in a position to accommodate customers in the next 12 weeks or so.

Sales & Marketing

Sales for 2003 were triple that of 2002. We aim to see a similar increase in 2004.
A marketing drive (initiated in late 2003) should encourage this.
Repeat business from existing customers is reassuring and consistent.
